What will I do?

You’ll join nine other participants for an approximately 90-minute guided tasting session. There are no right or wrong answers — we want to understand your experience as a consumer.

01 · TASTE

Taste wines blind and describe your impressions in your own words.

02 · REVEAL

See the bottles and reflect on how branding, packaging and provenance shape perception.

03 · DISCUSS

Talk through what you liked, value, and what might make you buy — or not buy — a wine.

Who are we looking for?

We’re intentionally looking for casual wine consumers — not sommeliers, wine judges or highly specialised enthusiasts.

• Aged 18–35 and able to travel to Cape Town

• Drink and/or purchase wine reasonably regularly

• Have everyday rather than specialist wine knowledge

• Do not work professionally in the wine industry

We don’t just study wine. We study the people drinking it.

Wine Behaviour combines behavioural research and wine knowledge to help wineries understand what creates value, influences purchasing decisions and changes the experience. This inaugural study puts that approach into practice with real South African wine consumers.

Interested?

Come taste. Tell us what you really think. Help us understand how South Africans choose wine.

Applications are screened for an appropriate mix of casual wine consumers. Selected participants will receive dates, venue details and further information directly.
